About the Copa Del Cafe
Tournament History
The "Copa del Cafè" (Coffee Bowl) is and has been one of the best junior tennis tournaments in the world. It is an ITF Grade 1 Tournament but has the feel and excitement of the Grand Slam and Grade A junior tournaments that take place every year, and which are played by the best ranked junior players in the world. The spark for starting “la Copa” in our country took place in 1965 with a group of tennis players at the Costa Rica Country Club. They formed an Organizing Committee, staffed by volunteer club members, which over the years has worked hard to make this tournament even better. The Committee members, club personnel, and corporate sponsors have worked together to make the tournament a prestigious tennis event on an international level. It is arguably Costa Rica`s premier international athletic event.2013 Copa del Cafe (Coffee Bowl)
