Ricardo Mendieta, past president of the Organizing Committee, passed away during 2009. Ricardo steered the Committee tirelessly and unselfishly for 10 years from 1999 through 2008 and served on the Organizing Committee for another 10 years prior to that. We thank him for his committment and dedication to the Copa, and we will never forget the integrity and dignity he brought to his stewardship. We will miss him.
