Registration for the 49th Copa del Café in January 2013 closed on 4 December 2012. Boys' entries totaled 144 while Girls' entries were 114, representing players from 54 countries. There are 72 Boys Alternates, so numerous withdrawals are expected during the coming days to pare down players to the 88 slots available including the 32 player Qualy. On the Girls side there are 42 Alternates, and a significant paring down will also likely occur.

The top Boys seed is Nikola MILOJEVIC of Serbia, currently ranked no. 6 on the ITF listing, who visits our tournament for the second time. No. 2 seed is world no. 7 Frederico SILVA of Portugal and these two players might very well play each other in the final, this year on a Sunday, January 6 of 2013. The top 10 Boys players in the Acceptance List are all within the top 100 worldwide. These rankings will of course greatly improve at 1 January as many current top players graduate out of the junior rankings on reaching their 19th birthday during 2013.

The Girls Acceptance List features Belinda BENCIC of Switzerland, ranked no. 10 by the ITF, as top seed and Christina MAKAROVA of USA, last year's finalist and currently ranked no. 19, as second seed. The top 10 seeds on the Girls side also all rank within the present top 100.

The player pool for 2013 is now set, and we look forward to stellar performances by top players once again. Please join us in person or through this web site for results of the 49th Copa del Café.
