Tuesday at the Copa again features 64 matches throughout a very busy day, 32 in Boys and Girls singles action and 32 in afternoon doubles. The last matches again were finishing up as night play was commencing at Stadium Court.

Boys singles results were again predictable as seeded players advanced, save Orlando LUZ of Brasil (no. 3 seed) who was upset by 14 year old Frenchman Corentin MOUTET by 4-6, 6-0, 7-5. Third round action will thereby feature almost all seeded players with 13 of 16 remaining in the draw.

The Girls draw is more open as 6 seeded players have fallen in the first 2 rounds, including seeds 2, 3, and 6. No. 1 seed Marie BOUZKOVA is a strong contender for the final, and other girls to watch are Usue ARCONADA of USA (no. 5), Aliona BOLSOVA of Spain, and Emily ARBUTHNOTT of Britain (no. 9).

The 16 matches of the first round of Boys doubles also went according to form as 7 of 8 seeded teams made it into the second round. The surprise occurred on Court 4 where the team of Adrian ANDREZEJCZUK of Poland and Nam Hoang LY of Vietnam defeated the 4th seeded Tadas BABELIS of Lithuania and Roman SAFIULLIN of Russia by the comfortable score of 6-3, 6-2.

In Girls doubles, all seeded teams won the first round, so that half of the 16 second round participants will feature seeded teams. The no. 1 seed Marie BOUZKOVA / Jaqueline CRISTIAN and no. 2 Usue ARCONADA / Aliona BOLSOVA teams, on paper, look very strong as these include, respectively, singles seeds 1 and 2, and numbers 5 and 7.
